The Tartu festival arena is an amphitheatre-style concert venue with seating for approximately 10,000 people. What makes the stage unique is its archway, which produces a unique reflective acoustic effect. Around 3500 singers will fit on the arena beneath the arch.

The festival arena was reopened in June 1994 as part of the 125th anniversary celebrations of the first Estonian song festival in Tartu.

Since then around 20 large-scale events have been held on the festival arena every year. In addition to the local song and dance festivals, the stage has been graced by such well-known productions and performers as Aida, José Carreras, The Manhattan Transfer and Depeche Mode, as well as the FIM Rally (an international bikers’ meet) and gala concerts of stars from the Estonian music scene. Tartu Maraton events have also been held here and in the sports park.

The festival arena is visited by approximately 100,000 people every year.

The first floor of the complex features a café, a sauna (with entertaining rooms for up to 15 or 35 people), showers, toilets and a hall (accommodating up to 100 people).The second floor features another hall, which will also accommodate 100 people and which can be hired out for special events, song and dance rehearsals and more.

The Tähtvere Leisure Park office also forms part of the festival arena complex.
